Relax Gringo I’m Legal shirt

It’s a slang word that refers to Americans Relax Gringo I’m Legal shirt. Especially white ones. I’ve referred to myself as gringo before and told I wasn’t.  It isn’t necessarily pejorative; depends on the context. There is a lot of debate of the origin of the word, but the popular story goes that when the Americans invaded Mexico. The modern Southwestern states. They wore green uniforms, and the Mexican soldiers yelled “green go!” That story is generally dismissed as apocryphal. And I confess that I have my doubts about it as well. But it’s a good story. According to Rawson. The Diccionario Castellano of 1787 noted that in Malaga.

Ultimately, in a global, mobile world like ours Relax Gringo I’m Legal shirt. Using words meant to point out foreignness is beginning to seem more and more anachronistic and provincial. It’s not a racial slur.  At worst, it’s a slur against people who don’t speak Spanish as their first language. A linguistic slur, if you will?  Honestly, I find that to be a bit of a stretch.  It’s no more a slur than “non-native English speaker” or “ESL type”.  Both of which I use liberally to describe the reasons for grammar differences such as those that appear here.  I’d hate to lose access to such terminology because someone thinks it’s uncool to note that we aren’t all born speaking every single language.
